Grandma and Grandpa Engler came to visit this weekend. We celebrated Carter's birthday. Carter shared cake with Eric...he insisted on using the fork to feed himself.

Jacob is really starting to have an imagination. He was pretending that the laundry basket was his spaceship. Carter wanted to join in on the fun too!
Jacob only liked to share for so long, so he went and got his laundry basket for Carter to use.
Grandpa and Daddy were hard at work this weekend. We decided to put up a retaining wall in the backyard to make our non-existant backyard a little more usable. It gets so hot here and we have no shade in the front so the back is a great place to be in the summer months. However, we don't have much to work with and its on a major slant. So we decided to level it out to make it a usable space. Here they are starting the project on Saturday. It was in the 30s but they went out and got to work!

Mother Nature was not to helpful this weekend, she decided that we needed one more snowfall this year. It started snowing a few hours after they started working, so they weren't able to put in all the time they wanted. I think we got about 2 or 3 inches. Luckily it melted the next morning and they were able to get back at it.
Sunday was definately more productive. They made some major progress!

The other side all done as well. Now we need rock, dirt and grass seed. What a nice looking tiny little backyard!
